Dr. ACDelco or the Ticher has now become the spokesman for ACDelco throughout South America and Asia.
The ACDelco "Ticher" as he was originally called, was developed in Mexico. The Ticher first appeared in Point of Sale material and print ads in Mexico in 1999. His purpose was to teach the WDs and Installers about the ACDelco brand and the importance of maintaining your vehicle with quality ACDelco products.
This character was actually modeled after an ACDelco employee in Mexico, Russ Scibilia.

He has now made appearances in Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Taiwan, China, and Japan.
In the South American countries, he continues to be known as the "Ticher" and has appeared in Point of Sale material, print ads, and even a television commercial in Ecuador and Venezuela. |
In 2003, the Ticher found his way around the world and was introduced in Japan. There, he was used in print ads, Point of Sale material and even merchandise; hats, mugs, t-shirts and more.
By 2004, he appeared in Taiwan and China as well. Taiwan introduced him to their market as, Dr. ACDelco. And he also has a Chinese name– AC德科博士.
Dr.ACDelco came into Asean view in forms of print ads and merchandising items which some of you may have seen.
Dr. ACDelco has become the spokesperson for ACDelco in Taiwan. He has set up his ?classroom? and is the source of reliable information and tips on the ACDelco brand, automotive parts, and maintenance for WDs, installers, and the car owners in that market. He now appears in print material, key chains and other merchandise.
